Privacy policy


I.- Who is responsible for processing your data?

 

The controller that processes your data is Barceló Gestión Hotelera, S.L. (hereinafter, “BGH”) with registered office at c/ Josep Rover Motta, 27, 07006, Palma de Mallorca. II. Why do we process your data? 

 

Firstly, it should be noted that, for the purposes of this privacy policy, COMPANY will be understood to mean any company in the travel sector (wholesale or retail travel agency) or any other sector. 

BGH hereby informs participants that their data will be processed by BGH for the following purposes:

 

1. Formalisation of the participant's registration in Barceló Pro Rewards and management of the contractual relationship subscribed by means of membership to the programme.

 

All participants who are part of Barceló Pro can formalise their registration for Barceló Pro Rewards by filling in the form on the Barceló Pro Rewards website. 

As a result of the new participant's registration for Barceló Pro Rewards, BGH will provide credentials so that the participant can access their private area and carry out the operations they deem appropriate (check available points, promotions to obtain more points, e-learning, information on the redemption of points...). 

The data requested is appropriate and relevant to the registration. Thus, if they are not provided, BGH will be unable to complete request made by the participant. 

Legitimation: This processing is undertaken on the basis of the execution of the contract regarding the registration of the participant independently and on the basis of the consent obtained by the AGENCY in the case that the latter formalises the participant's registration.

 

2. Sending informative newsletters regarding available points, earning points and redeeming them. 

 

Once the individual participant has formalised their membership to Barceló Pro Rewards, BGH will periodically send an informative newsletter regarding the available points for the participant who is part of Barceló Pro Rewards, along with opportunities for such participant to earn more points and obtain greater visibility regarding the promotion of BGH products and services. 

Legitimacy: This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract.

 

3. Fulfilling accounting, legal, tax and administrative obligations. 

 

Legitimacy: This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract. 

 

4. Contacting us to resolve any queries. BGH will process participants' data in order to manage the response to enquiries received via the contact form. Likewise, BGH may contact said participants as necessary regarding their request or for the performance of the contract.

8. Analysing and studying website interactions. BGH may process participants’ personal data once they enter their credentials on the website, in order to analyse any interactions, movements, scrolls, visits and point and product consultations the participant carries out on the website. 

Legitimacy: This data processing is required to satisfy the legitimate interests of BGH. Participants can oppose the processing of their data for such purposes by following the instructions set out in section V. 

6. Website monitoring. BGH will monitor and control website use to prevent and detect any fraudulent use, unauthorised access, alterations or loss of personal data or other data. 

Legitimacy: this data processing is necessary to comply with the obligations under the Spanish Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, as well as to satisfy Barceló’s legitimate interest in guaranteeing internet and data security. 

 

7. Reporting system and system management incidents.  BGH will process the customer information needed to manage any incident reported or detected by its own means. Such data processing will only be carried out in order to solve the incident and resolve any problems derived from it. 

Legitimacy: This processing is necessary in order to satisfy the legitimate interests of BGH. Customers can oppose the processing of their data for such purposes by following the instructions set out in section V.

III.- How long will we keep your data for?

 

Any personal data that BGH has access to will be processed and stored for the amount of time necessary to carry out the purpose for which they were collected, and throughout the entire duration of the Participant's membership in Barceló Pro Rewards. 

 

Specifically, if the participant does not interact with Barceló Pro Rewards for one year, their profile will become “inactive”, their data will be blocked and the countdown will begin to completely erase the data, in accordance with the following paragraph. 

 

Once the processing purpose has been fulfilled, BGH will store your personal data, in a duly blocked manner, in order to make them available to any competent Public Administration, Judge, Court, or the Public Prosecutor during the statutory time limit for personal claims that may have arisen from the relationship held with the guest and/or legally established storage periods. Once said time frames have passed, BGH will proceed with the physical deletion of the data. 

 

IV.- Who will we share your data with?

 

BGH may share data with: 

· Competent Public Bodies, Judges and Courts. 

· Beside the aforementioned data sharing, BGH works with third parties who provide services and have access to customers’ personal data, which they process in representation and on behalf of BGH as a result of providing said services. Specifically, BGH hires third parties to provide services in the following sectors, including but not limited to: legal advice, multidisciplinary professional services, tech services, IT services. 

 

V.- What rights do you have when providing us with your data?

 

Participants may, if they so wish, exercise their right to access, amend and delete their data, request that the handling of their data be limited, oppose it, request the portability of their data, as well as request to not be the object of automated individual decisions, by the following means:
